Urban Power Backpack from Outdoor Products Fits the Bill

PowerPack

My Swiss Army laptop backpack finally wore out after almost six years of daily use and thousands of miles of global air travel.  While looking for a new backpack for my son who was going away to college, I came across this little jewel.  I bought one for him and liked it so much I went back to REI to pick up one for myself.  The layout for all of the various cord/chargers/USB thumb drives, etc. is very well thought out and I carry a 15" MacBook Pro in the padded rear laptop compartment.  Comes in Red or Black.  Again I purchased mine at REI ($76) but I know that Amazon carries it as well.  Additional photos and specs at the Outdoor Products website.

Great Wheeled Carry-on Suitcase from Swiss Army - Victorinox CH22

CH22 Carry-on

It has been a while since I have posted up here but wanted to get back in the saddle so to speak.  I continue to travel quite a bit so my luggage gets a good workout.  I just picked up a new 22" carry-on manufactured by Swiss Army - Victorinox, model CH22.  I love this bag.  It is very light (around 8 pounds - empty) and measures: 13.5"w x 20.5"h x 7.5"d [expands to 9.5"d].  Fits in all the common overhead spaces easily and has a nice long handle that collapses and zips away.  I got mine at REI but there are many other dealers/retailers that carry Victorinox.  More photos and specs here.

Using YourTankTag™ - Field Test & Review

_dsc0045 We had our first opportunity to field test the YourTankTag™ personalized name tag for SCUBA air tanks this weekend at Haigh Quarry in Kankakee, IL.  The visibility was about 20' for the images in the photo album.

This product worked extremely well.  For the field test, the lettering was done in neon green and neon orange.  The neon green worked better underwater, the neon orange was better above.  It easily adjusts to any tank size and is attached in a matter of seconds with the Velcro® tabs on each end.  You put the YourTankTag on first before the BC and when tighten your BC tank strap, it locks the YourTankTag down so that it doesn't slip down the tank.

The YourTankTag made it easy to instantly pick out your buddy from the masses of student divers also in the quarry.  I can only imagine how well it will work in the much more clear waters found in the tropical dive sites of the world.  You can buy the YourTankTag from YourBagTag.com.

A special thanks to Dan & Cindy Howard at DJ's SCUBA in Lyons, IL for sponsoring the photo shoot and letting us hang out with their instructors and students for the day.
